During the first week of September this year I was fortunate enough to have been invited to be Artist in Residence at Nature in Art. This beautiful art gallery in Gloucestershire is the only one in the UK dedicated to nature.
I spent a wonderful week here surrounded by the work of some of the most talented nature artists such as David Shepherd and Geoffrey Dashwood.
My days were spend talking about my work and the techniques I use, demonstrating free motion embroidery to the visitors, many of whom were new to the technique.
During the week I continued to work on my current piece, a large Common Crane.
This will be the main piece in the next series of work I will be making over the next year to eighteen months featuring birds found on the Somerset Levels.
I really recommend a visit to Nature in Art, check their website out for a list of exhibition and Artists in residence.
