I have had break from social media and my blog for quite a time but have been busy immersing myself in creating work for exhibitions this year.

Last year was mostly about continuing to make work for my solo exhibition this September at Ace Arts in Somerton, Somerset.  This 5 week exhibition will coincide with the Somerset Arts Work Open studios event which I will be part of at the gallery (12th September – 17th October 2020).

Last year I was over the moon to have work accepted into two London Exhibitions.

The first was the Society of Graphic Fine Arts Annual Open exhibition (SGFA) at the Menier Gallery in London.

The second exhibition I was very proud to be part of was the first Exhibition by a new group called the Society for Embroidered Work, this exhibition was held at The Clerkenwell Gallery.

This international group has come about thanks to the hard work and drive of Emily Tull and Cat Frampton.

‘The Royal Watercolour Society, the Fine Arts Society, the Pastels Society, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the Society for Wildlife Art, the Society for Women’s Art, the London art scene is littered with art societies, but there was no society for us, no society for an artistic medium that is as old as the needle’.

‘Founded by stitch based artists Cat Frampton and Emily Tull in 2018 after a conversation about the inclusion of (or lack of) stitched/embroidered artworks in the art world. Both artists had experienced negative opinions that this category of work could only been seen as craft, but both agreed that yes of course stitching is a highly skilled ‘craft’ but can also be an art-form.
The aim of S.E.W is to promote and support artists who have an element of stitching in their artworks, hand or machine and traditional or contemporary forms of embroidery’.
