This giclee print features my hand embroidered Redpoll stitched into c1850 Indenture Contract Parchment. This bird is currently listed on the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) as Red listed/critically endangered.
We need a ‘Contract with Nature’ for it to survive….
I acquired a small collection of Indenture documents about 4 years ago, not knowing what to do with them but hoping they could be incorporated into a piece at some point. This series contains two further pieces, a Lesser spotted woodpecker and a Puffin.
This series has given me the perfect opportunity… the idea came with the thought that if we do not start prioritising nature and start legally giving wildlife greater priority it will be lost. I feel we treat the planet as ‘humans first’ and nature second – there will be no humans without nature!

The prints image measures H 25.7cm x W 26cm (with an additional border, fits, when mounted into a 40 x 40cm ready made frame).
